aviva shower gel and 2 in 1 shampoo dispensers connected by basket on transparent background dispenser amenities

One of the most important in-shower features to guests is often overlooked by hotels when deciding on a Dispenser.

In the hotel industry, the quality of the guest washroom can turn a mediocre review into a rave review.  In our recent article “What does the average traveler think of Dispensers?”, we explored hundreds of TripAdvisor reviews.  We found that guests love the convenience of Dispensers, as well the environmental benefits associated with reducing the small-bottle pollution associated with traditional amenities.

One thing that we have not spoken of yet is how much guests appreciate a basket in the shower to hold their own toiletries!  No matter what amenities are provided, there is still no way around it.  Guests enjoy shaving with their own razors, bringing their special hair treatment products, and using their personal loofah.

This is where our AVIVA Basket Dispensers prove their superiority over traditional amenities programs.  In one convenient, wall-mounted location, hotels can offer their guests top-quality liquids, a large basket to hold all of their personal products, and hooks to hang wash cloths, loofahs, or back-scrubbers.

To top it off, we have Basket Dispensers to suit any size shower.  Our Aviva Dispensers come in several varieties: the two-chambered mini basket, two-chambered standard basket, and three-chambered shower station.  In addition, we are also able to custom-build our units for basket size, placement, and chamber finish.  To complete the look, we can apply a custom faceplate for that extra touch that will impress your guests.

FOURSEASONS-AVIVASolidDisp.aiShown right you can see a custom unit designed and built for and found in every Four Points by Sheraton hotel worldwide!  When Starwood originally contacted us, they asked to us to create a unique design to use in every Four Points property.  Over the months that followed, we collaborated with their branding team to put this unit together and immediately hit the factory to create thousands of units to outfit their properties across the globe.  The results and feedback have been fantastic.  Guests at Four Points locations are raving about how great the units look and how much they appreciate the environmental consideration.  Hotel managers are loving the feedback from guests.  They feel great about the contribution to the environment, and the incredible savings on their amenity costs.

Hilton’s best launch, Home2 Suites, carries WAVE Dispenses in every guestroom shower!

This July, Jim Holthouser, Executive Vice President of Global Brands for Hilton Worldwide, spoke to Hilton’s Home2 Suites brand being the best launch that Hilton has seen to date.  The results are in and it reads very easily – extended stay facilities are a hit – and Home2 Suites by Hilton is right at the head of the pack!

Staying true to their slogan “It’s your home2”, and their promise to “always provide their guests with earth-conscious products and services they can feel good about”, Home2 created their brand with sustainability measures in place.  These include, but are not limited to, saline-based pools maintained with minerals instead of chemicals, outfitting every suite and floor with convenient recycling stations, purchasing appliances which use significantly less energy and water, using eco-friendly materials for their building supplies, using renewable bamboo cutlery and serving containers, and WAVE Shower Dispensers in every guest bathroom to ensure there is no disposable plastic used!

Home2 Suites’s success can be partially attributed to the extreme effort they have made towards ensuring that guests have all of the amenities that they enjoy in their own home, and more.  At Home2 Suites, guests are treated to a fully outfitted kitchen area, a media hub enabling guests to connect any of their personal devices to the television, a Spin2Cycle facility combining laundry and fitness to allow guests to work out while getting laundry done, and many other services.

“To play such a large part in one of the world’s top hospitality brands is as exciting for me as it is practical” says Ian Wallace, President of Dispenser Amenities.  “With sustainability clauses so powerfully worded into the Home2 branding, it only makes sense for them to join in our Worldwide War on Waste which is eliminating millions of plastic bottles from the waste stream annually!”

Home2 Suites has selected the WAVE Dispenser with customized artwork to complement their stylish suites.  They saw the WAVE units and immediately fell in love with the sleek design.  The smooth, button-free face plate customized with a clean, crisp Neutrogena printed lid has been a hit with guests.

On TripAdvisor, a Senior Contributor (TripAdvisor rates their contributors by number of posts and feedback from other users) named Misuzi00, from Washington DC, went as far as to say the following about the Home2 Suites in Fayetteville:

“The room was outstanding– beautifully decorated and “Ikea-looking,” extremely clean, and special touches like a Rainbath dispenser in the shower (Neutrogena toiletries all around), Rainforest Alliance coffee at the coffee machine, DirecTV. Full kitchen, extremely comfortable mattresses and PERFECTLY clean beds, blackout shades, very hot water in the bathroom and a changeable showerhead (water pressure is good if you put it on one of the harder settings). Seriously, it is like someone at Hilton brainstormed “What would make the PERFECT hotel room?” and put it all into these suites.”

Rave reviews like this one are not out of the ordinary for Home2 Suites.  In fact, Home2 Suites in Fayetteville is rated #6 overall out of every hotel in Fayetteville by TripAdvisor.  Every time we, at Dispenser Amenities, see a new shipment of our fabulous Neutrogena WAVE Dispensers head out the door, we think to ourselves how great it is to be contributing to such excellence.  With extended stay facilities being the fastest growing segment in hotels worldwide, we hope that we will be supplying this wonderful product for a long time to come.

Dispensers are a big hit at Hampton!

Hampton by Hilton hotels all across Europe are taking a new approach to bathroom amenities with tremendous advantages for both the environment, and Hampton guests.  With the addition of Dispensers both in the showers and at the vanity, hotels are eliminating all forms of disposable plastic and partially used bars of soap from their bathrooms.  The average 100 room hotel offering five shower products in disposable bottles and bar soap disposes of an estimated 70,000 plastic bottles, 17,000 partially used bars of soap, and 135,000 ounces of wasted liquids every year!

All Hampton by Hilton Dispensers display custom faceplates with the Purity Basics branding. The Purity Basics amenity product line was created exclusively for Hampton by Hilton and has been a hit with the guests.  Some guests are even turning to eBay and internet beauty-product forums in an attempt to secure themselves some of the exclusive product to use at home.

Dispensers are being introduced in Hampton properties all over Europe.  The idea of eliminating wasteful plastic bottles is rapidly catching on.  Recent hotel additions to the Dispenser program include Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Airport, Hampton by Hilton Schiphol, Hampton by Hilton Berlin, and Hampton by Hilton Croydon UK.

The Dispenser Amenities team is proud to be a part of this movement.  To become a part of such a fantastic brand which, year after year, has shown commitment to sustainability is a rare opportunity.  We are excited to help contribute the elimination of disposable plastic from bath amenities to Hilton’s already impressive sustainability portfolio including eliminating over 80 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions through pro-active power purchasing, investing $1.3 million in financial support of the Global Soap Project on top of the 270,000 pounds of soap donated by Hilton properties, partnering with the Feeding America program which collects surplus food from Hilton locations and has supplied over 17,000 pounds to those in need, partnering with Goods360 to re-purpose worn but usable items from properties to people who need them, and even partnering with USA Today to provide free digital news content to their guests which eliminates a countless amount of paper waste.

Four Points by Sheraton in London shines once again as it successfully hosts the Canadian Women’s Open LPGA Golf Tournament.

Four Points by Sheraton in London was one of the major co-sponsors of this year’s Canadian Women’s Open golf tournament that was held at London Hunt and Country Club.  The hotel hosted the top golfers attending the Canadian Women’s Open which featured 96 of the top 100 players on the LPGA’s Official Money List including former two-time champion and World No. 3 Lydia Ko, along with Canadian teenage golfing sensation, Brooke Henderson.  Most of the golfers participating in the event were hosted at the Four Points Sheraton in London together with their friends and families.

The Four Points by Sheraton London is located approximately 10 minutes away from downtown London and less than a 5 minute drive from the 401 highway.  The golfers staying at the hotel had a choice of dining at one of two establishments on the site – the Tuscany’s Ristorante and the Atrium setting of Bentley’s Lounge.  The hotel has more than 14,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom that can hold up to 600 of the golfers and their entourage.

The London Hunt and Country Club is a well-known facility which provides an 18-hole, 7200 yard championship golf course designed by one of the world’s most renowned golf course architects, Robert Trent Jones in 1960 and then renovated in the year 2000 by his son, Rees Jones, one of today’s leading golf course designers.  The course is a world-class 156 player field and the highest rated golf course at the facility and has a rating of 7.5882 making it among the top courses in the province of Ontario.  There were 15 Canadians who challenged at the LPGA tournament’s opening round of Canadian Pacific Women’s Open which had a $2.25 million purse.  The cup was won by South Korea’s Ryu So-Yeon who claimed her first LPGA title after a two-year drought.

So Yeon Ryu broke through on Sunday at the tournament holding off her best friends and fellow countrymen Na Yeon Choi and five time major winner, Inbee Park. Ryu beat Choi Na-Yeon (21-under) by two shots with a 3-under 69 to get her to 23-under-par for the championship.  “I’ve been waiting and wanting it so much that I really cannot feel anything right now. It’s always good to be the champion”, said Ryu.  Ryu, who is also the 2011 US Women’s Open champion, will move up to fifth place in the world rankings as a result of her latest win.

However, despite being the competitive course record-holder at London Hunt and Country Club (63) and also holding the Canadian Women’s Open record, Ryu was slightly upset that she was unable to break the LPGA Tour record of 27-under still being held by Annika Sorenstam.  “Yeah, I’m a bit disappointed I couldn’t reach the record but it still feels good.  I still have the tournament course record, and it still feels really great”, Ryu said on Sunday after winning the tournament.  With the victory, Ryu picks up her third career LPGA Tour win and first since the 2012 Jamie Farr Toledo Classic.

Top amateur Canadian golfer, Brooke Henderson was quite excited for play that began on Thursday. Henderson, who is a Team Canada member from Smiths Falls, Ontario, was well aware of the great expectations that came with her recent success.  “I see the pressure and I hear it,” said Henderson, who finished with a tie for 10th at the U.S Women’s Open last month and runner up at the U.S. Women’s Amateur two weeks ago.  “I hear that I’m the face of Canadian golf, but I’m just trying to improve and trying to get better.

The Canadian amateur sensation won low amateur and low Canadian honors, winning the Marlene Streit and Sandra Post Awards.  After missing the cut at the past two Canadian Women’s Opens Henderson made it four for four in 2014 LPGA cuts made with a final round 1-under 71 to finish T46. By making the cut at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open, the 16-year-old prodigy got to play with two LPGA major winners:  her teenage idol Lexi Thompson and golfing legend Laura Davies.  “That support from such a veteran on the tour and such a role model of mine is amazing,” Henderson said.

Four Points by Sheraton donned another feather in its cap after the successful co-sponsoring the LPGA event which came to an end on 24th August.  The attendants at Four Points by Sheraton worked tirelessly to see that the golfers received world-class service.  The golfers also received lots of support from the local community and the local city council.  The success brings new fame to the Four Points by Sheraton in London as the national and international golfers got to experience the five-star service of a world-class eco-friendly hotel.

FFOURSEASONS-AVIVASolidDisp.aior a long time, Four Points by Sheraton has been committed to being an ‘eco-friendly’ hotel.  The hotel has taken several measures to live up to its reputation by implementing energy conservation policies, water conservation practices and engaging in responsible purchasing.  The hotel, for example, in its relentless effort to cut waste, has installed eco-friendly dispensers from Dispenser-Amenities Inc., and this has helped the hotel to cut back on soap/shampoo wastage and eliminate thousands of plastic bottles from being dumped in landfills.  It has also implemented other ‘green’ environmental practices such as Smart Irrigation, Dumpster Monitoring, and Green Housekeeping.

Dispenser Amenities is proud that the finest female golfers in the world enjoyed the world’s finest shower dispensers during their stay a London’s Four Points by Sheraton!

montana hotel custom hand and body lotion and hand wash dispensers mounted on white wall dispenser amenities

The Montana Hotel in London, England discovers enormous benefits from their recent Dispenser purchase.

The Montana Hotel, a sixty-room property in London, England has recently installed the AVIVA II Custom Satin Dispenser with Basket, and their feedback could not be better.  They chose to install our popular four-chamber Dispenser combo with a two-chambered satin silver AVIVA unit with hand soap and lotion for the vanity, and the two-chambered satin silver AVIVA with stainless steel basket in the shower.  Both of these Dispensers are adorned with, gold-foil-crested custom faceplates featuring the hotel branding.

General Manager, Raj Takhar, couldn’t be happier with the decision:

“After we (The Montana Hotel) installed the AVIVA Dispensers, we immediately noticed the time that was being saved by our housekeeping staff.  I estimate that each member of my housekeeping staff saves one hour and twenty minutes every day, which would have been spent collecting bottled amenities from storage, cleaning the mess from the showers, and disposing of the waste.  This extra time is allowing the staff to further detail their service and provide those little extra touches!  Stock control is far easier to manage as the Dispensers only need be refilled about once per week.  All guests whom I’ve had a chance to speak with about it have nothing but positive things to say about it, particularly how convenient they found the basket in the shower.  Since the installation, I’ve notice a cost-reduction of approximately 80% for our liquid offerings and expect to start seeing a return on investment within the next 6 months.”

The property is located right in the heart of Knightsbridge and the décor is fashioned to appeal to those looking for traditional British luxury feel!  Spectacular crystal chandeliers, wood furnishings, and granite décor, found throughout the Montana Hotel certainly contribute to this sort of aesthetic!

This great news is re-lived day after day as thousands of hospitality locations are making the switch to our modern and sustainable systems.  However, “it’s not every day we see a location incorporate a raised golden crest into their faceplate artwork” says Ed Ruffman, European Sales Manager for Dispenser Amenities.  “For me, I think this particular label is one of most unique and eye-catching I’ve seen to date!”
