Lindblad Expeditions to be Featured on Jeopardy

Our customers at Lindblad Expeditions have landed a new primetime television partner – Jeopardy!  From January 20 – 24 and 27 – 31 viewers who have watched the show will be encouraged to visit and answer a question about final Jeopardy for a chance to win an expedition aboard a Lindblad every day that the sweepstakes is active.

Jeopardy is not the first television giant to partner with Lindblad Expeditions.  In 2004 Lindblad partnered with National Geographic.  This partnership provides writers, photographers, researchers, and other staff from National Geographic an excellent way to travel to the exotic places their work directs them while at the same time providing travelers who choose Lindblad ships the opportunity to learn from and interact with some of the most knowledgeable naturalists in the world.  Lindblad currently had 6 ships in its fleet named after National Geographic:  The National Geographic Orion, The National Geographic Explorer, The National Geographic Endeavour, The National Geographic Islander, The National Geographic Sea Bird, and the National Geographic Sea Lion.

Dispenser Amenities products have been in use on Lindblad’s National Geographic ships throughout the world for over a decade.  By using AVIVA Dispensers for their stateroom amenities Lindblad is able to offer their passengers high quality shower liquids without creating waste.

We are certainly looking forward to seeing one of our favorite partners be featured on Jeopardy and will definitely be tuning into the show for the contest.  Whoever the lucky winners turn out to be, the Dispenser amenities folks will be watching what happens with travel envy!

What Does the Average Traveler Think of Dispensers?

Are Dispensers widely accepted by travelers who expect luxury?

When International Sales Manager, Andrew Davis attended the Lodging Green Hotel Show earlier this year that was exactly the question on the minds of many attendees.  Of course Andrew could recall dozens of experiences were hoteliers have raved about how well-received the Dispensers have been from the guests as well experiencing many verbal reviews from pleased guests himself as we have many happy customers close to home.  However, none of this wonderful information was documented and signed by the guest themselves.

While we have collected a fair amount of industry testimonials we had not found a way until now to easily collect certified guest testimonials.  With the emergence of social media and travel reviews we now have a great way to show the world that – yes – hotel guests are not only accepting our Dispensers, but embracing them!  They are really understanding the environmental benefits and convenience of using them.

Here are a few examples:

  • “the shampoo dispenser cured all my nightmares about tiny shampoo bottles going to waste.”
     – Zabe on
  • “The shower had dispensers on the wall for soap, shampoo, etc. I like how this cut back on waste with the tiny bottles.”
    – teawar on
  • “The shower has shampoo, soap and conditioner dispensers on the wall — no little bottles and soap cakes cluttering the bathroom.”
    – juliezuck on
  • “The shower has soap/conditioner dispensers attached to the wall. Very hip.”
    – ALFAMERICA090909 on
  • “The shower had dispensers for soap and shampoo instead of the typical small bottles. As someone with environmental concern, I really appreciated this.”
    – Dan L on Tripadvisor
  • “I happen to like the shower set up with the liquid soup & shampoo dispensers permanently affixed to the shower wall.  Why don’t more hotels do it that way?”
    Kgems 1 on

All of these testimonials are completely unsolicited and were collected by searching travel forums and reading the reviews from our customers.  The comments we reviewed that mentioned our products in any way were over 85 percent positive!

In addition to this list we were also privy to the results from a 2009 independent survey of hotel guests about their experience with our AVIVA product.

Overall opinion? 91% Positive or Very Positive
Easy to use? 99% Favorable for Females; 95% for Males
A worthwhile Environmental contribution? Yes for Females 97%; Yes for Males 91%
Should they be used permanently? Yes for Females 97%; Yes for Males 87%

Here are some of the guest comments submitted with the survey:

  • “All hotels should do what you are doing. Keep up great work”
  • “Before I saw the survey, I saw the dispensers and thought, what a great thing!”
  • “Environmentally positive, but also much easier than dealing with getting liquids from bottles – Brilliant!”
  • “Finally! All hotels need to follow this”
  • “Great Idea! Should have done it long time ago “
  • “Great to see steps to reduce waste. I think the majority of personal care products should be in the dispenser – fits décor nicely”
  • “Love it. Allows each individual to use as much or as little that fits. No waste. No messy bottles to squeeze. Great Idea – Please keep.”

We produce quality, customizable Dispensers that perform flawlessly!  They are used all over the world including some of the finest venues on the planet.  Do guests accept this?  The answer is overwhelmingly yes!

2013 Was a Great Year in New York City

The Dispenser Amenities’ team was in New York this November along with over 500 hospitality suppliers to attend the 98th annual International Motel, Hotel, and Restaurant Show (IHMRS) and 4th Boutique Design New York Show (BDNY) at the Javits Center.  Trade attendees fell just 4 short of 16,000, a marked increase from 13,000 last year.

IHMRS and BDNY is a world renowned event that brings together suppliers and hotel executives to explore five easy-to-navigate categories: Operations, Technology, Food & Beverage, Tabletop, and Green.

IHRMS had a great vibe and the increased visitor results reflected the bounce back and growing confidence in the economy.

The Dispenser Amenities team stayed at the chic TRYP New York Times Square Hotel, by Wyndham.  The oversized guest rooms, by NYC standards, were everything that we expected.  The rainforest shower, the contemporary red tiles, and of course the AVIVA Dispensers, helped to complete one of the best-looking hotel bathrooms you will ever see.   The TRYP itself became a hot topic of conversation when the IHMRS Show began.  Many passersby who stopped at our booth immediately recognized the Dispensers from the TRYP Hotel where they were also staying.  This worked wonders for our popularity as people were able to see the product in such a beautiful setting.

Tryp BathroomThe Tryp Hotel is a short ten minute walk to the Javits Center and is surrounded by great restaurants like The Bukhara Grill and Ai Fiori, it was perfect.  Showtime was upon us and, as always, our first night in New York was celebrated at The Bukhara Grill on East 49th Street.  The helpful staff at the TRYP helped to arrange many of our restaurant bookings.

In addition to the TRYP, more New York properties are choosing to shift to Dispenser Amenities’ environmentally sustainable amenities program to deliver shampoos, body wash, and similar shower liquids to their guests.  We are featured in hotels such as:

Heather and Hotel ImpossibeThe IHMRS show was attended by celebrity guest Anthony Melchiorri from Hotel Impossible.  He was there as the guest for Cintas Corporation and we were lucky enough to meet him.    Anthony was there to present a $25000 hotel makeover award to the Wyndham Boca Raton in October.  Heather had a chance to speak briefly with Anthony who mentioned that he will be in Canada doing a show at a hotel in Nova Scotia in the upcoming months.

The BDNY show, only in its 4th year, was running next door in the same building as IHMRS.   If you missed it, make sure to see it next year.  You could feel excitement in the air with innovative new ideas and luxurious products never before seen!!!

New York has been, and continues to be our go-to hotspot for both forward-thinking hotels as well as some of the best entertainment the world has to offer.
